The album's true problem is a lack of super-singles. While At The Club played like an album composed entirely of singles Get In resembles the debut's introspective flipside. Of course if all you want from Kenickie is a kind of amped-up Shangri-Las or a poppier take on Riot grrrl then you're best sticking with the debut/5(2).

Years on, when I dare to play some of the tracks (hey, I have lots of my albums on a single mp3 CD now) I half-expect to suddenly 'get' it, but never do. After this album, Kenickie split straight after a gig. Lauren has gone solo, with a pretty dismal collaboration with Mint Royale.

It was released in and reached number thirty-two on the UK Albums Chart. Get In includes the singles "I Would Fix You" and "Stay in the Sun".

Kenickie's first album, "At the Club", was a an alternative music marvel, comparable to a kickier version of Elastica's first album. The follow-up "Get In", is a whole different beast, retro pop that sometimes seems to be channeling Abba and Bananarama. Single "Stay in the Sun" and "Magnatron" even have a disco beat/5(3).
